HELP US GET
JUSTICE FOR PATTIE
Help us get justice for Pattie’s daughter who has been unfairly charged for a traffic accident and being held in prison even though she did not break the law. In California, her daughter has been charged for an accident, her crime? Driving while black. Please help us create change. We can start with one, and hopefully help many many more people going through similar situations. (Donations on this page go directly to Pattie so that she can start looking for attorney’s and also get her daughter out of this bail situation).

Help with legal costs
We are raising funds to help get Pattie’s daughter get an attorney. We are also raising in order to put enough money together for bail. To get her daughter out of jail, we need to raise $5000 plus $500/month. Her daughter’s bail was set at an unreasonably high amount of $250,000. So, a deal has been made to get her out with a $5000 downpayment and and an agreement to make payments. We are really close to having the $5000 already. We just need about $1000 more. See below.
What We Hope
We hope we can help bring justice for Pattie’s daughter, get her an attorney and get her out of jail. Likewise, we hope that we can create a way for people who are in similar situations to be able to find support.Â
Why this matters
This could be you or one of your loved ones who find themselves in a similar situation. We believe Pattie’s daughter was treated not only unfairly, but that the parents of these children are the ones to blame. It is unbelievable that a three-year-old was allowed to be in a busy street at 8:30pm in the dark and if the parents had taken responsibility of the child, none of this could have happened.Â
Ongoing Case Updates
For those of you coming to this site. We are friends who have built this site in order to help with Pattie’s daughter’s situation. As you know, her daughter was involved in a car accident when a 3-year-old ran in front of her car at 8:30pm at night. The toddler was unattended by an adult, it was dark, the street was very narrow, and there was no way to see the toddler. Another child jumped in front of the car to save the toddler and died two months later. Her daughter has been charged with the loss of one life and injury to the toddler. However, she did not break the law. Following this accident, she was pulled out of the car and brutally beaten by a man. Her daughter was hospitalized. Nearly one year later, the family pressed charges against her daughter and she was subsequently put in prison. She was not intoxicated, her blood toxicology was under the legal limit. Yet, they were able to put her behind bars and has had to wait over 8 months for her first hearing. She doesn’t have an attorney, so we are raising funds here to try to get her an attorney and get her out on bail. Below we will be publishing blogs to help people in similar situations get help and find support.Â
Volunteer
We could use your help and support. If you can come to support in court during hearings, help us make phone calls, find information, and find donors, we can drive this forward and create change together so that people who are going through similar situations know where and how to get help. We will be building a blog and collecting links and information to resources. This kind of thing could happen to anyone, so we need your help.Â
We’ve Raised $3,959.07 so far.
And we’re just getting started. We need your help. Pattie can’t do this alone. And we hope that if we can help this situation this time, we can build a fund and a knowledge bank for other people who have been victims of the way the law treats people of colour in the state of California.
